Mahmoud Owda grew up in Al Karama which sits north-west of the Palestinian region, just north of Gaza City. It was one of the first places hit by bombs after Israel mounted an assault on the region.
A man living in Glasgow has been left feeling helpless as he tries to help his family who were forced from their home in Gaza after it was destroyed
Reports from the Palestinian authority have claimed that more than 30,000 Palestinians, including over 10,000 children, have lost their lives since the conflict began. "They did not know where they could go. They were told to leave the area but at first my family refused because they didn't know what was going on.
"One time I lost contact for a long time. I was on the phone to my mum and she said they were attacking everywhere. His parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews are now all displaced along the Egyptian border, some are living without shelter.Mahmoud said: "Before the ceasefire I was unable to move them.
"Now they are living out of tent which isn't big enough. I'm now trying to send them money so they can afford a bigger tent."
