A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences after police officers discovered the haul inside a shipping container and his vehicle.
A man has been charged after police discovered a drugs haul worth £135,000. The Class A drugs were seized during a pre-planned operation on Tuesday, October 10.
Officers searched a shipping container in the Westerburn Street area, where they allegedly found heroin and cocaine which had an estimated street value of £83,000. Five quad bikes, suspected to be stolen, were also uncovered and are undergoing further investigation. While the search was taking place, a vehicle was stopped on Westerhouse Road where more drugs were supposedly discovered. The 35-year-old driver was suspected of being linked to the container and was arrested at the scene. He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday after being charged in connection with drugs offences. Detective Inspector Murray Owen said: “Officers are committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and will continue to do so across Scotland day in, day out.“I would encourage anyone with information about drug crime in their area to report this to us via 101 so we can investigate thoroughly.”
