Police urged people to avoid Househillmuir Road between number 386 and the junction with Dunside Drive at about 13:15.The area was closed for investigations but reopened at about 14:50. Police said there was no ongoing risk to the public.Earlier a spokesperson for the force said the item was a "possible ordnance" the evacuation was carried out "as a precaution".
