Glasgow residents were evacuated from a block of flats in the east end of the city after a 'possible carbon dioxide leak' in the building.
The incident occurred at around 9.55pm yesterday on Westmuir Street in the Parkhead area. Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue services attended the scene to help with the evacuation. Officers confirmed the building has now been 'deemed safe' with residents allowed to return. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.55pm on Saturday, 24 February, 2024, we were made aware of a possible carbon dioxide leak at a block of flats in the Westmuir Steet area of Glasgow. "Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with evacuating several nearby properties."Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing."
