New areas of the city are in line to the get the street bin hubs

New bin hubs rolled out in Pollokshields , Finnieston and Haghill have helped people living in tenements and flats recycle more, a meeting heard.

He added: "The quality of the material is "better" than what we were getting from the previous blue bin co-mingled recycling service." He asked if the bin hubs would be expanded to include glass but a council official said there is a still a question mark over that. Glass can currently be deposited at communal public points.

He said: "Our bin men come early doors - sometimes 7am or 8am. They are quite noisy so the noise will disappear. The dirt coming through the close will disappear. We will get our back gardens back, which can be redeveloped."However problems that have cropped up due to the new bin hubs, included cars blocking access, which has led to double yellow lines being painted.
