SPT took to social media to inform passengers the closure was due to a power failure. The station did not reopen on Saturday, with SPT saying work by Scottish Power to restore the supply was "taking longer than expected." On Sunday morning, SPT announced both the Inner and Outer Circle lines were suspended. No Subway trains ran on Sunday morning.
In a statement to social media, SPT said the closure was due to the "power failure around St Enoch station which has caused flooding in the system." The Outer Circle reopened around 12.17pm. At 1.26pm, SPT announced the system had reopened, saying: "Inner Circle is now running. Both Circles are running as normal.
