Glen Ellyn police said it was the second bomb threat in less than two weeks.
At around 11 a.m. Wednesday, a voicemail was left for administrators at Glenbard West stating, “West you have 10 minutes to get out or a bomb will go off on the first, second and third floor,” according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.In an email sent Thursday, Berlin said authorities heard the voicemail after 11:30 a.m., shortly before school administrators received a second call at 11:43 a.m.
The school was evacuated as police investigated the threat, and students and staff were allowed back on campus after an all-clear was given at 2 p.m.Berlin said in a statement that an investigation by Glen Ellyn police led authorities to the student later that afternoon following a traffic stop in Glendale Heights.Officials said the bomb threat made April 27 is still under investigation.
