GM and Netflix have teamed up to 'give EVs the stage they deserve.'
If it seems like you're suddenly seeing more electric vehicles on Netflix in the near future, you're not going crazy. Subliminally purposeful product placement has been around for ages, but this time it pushes for normalizing an electrified automotive future. GM and Netflix have joined together to increase the presence of electric GMs in Netflix-produced shows and films.
GM Global Chief Marketing Officer Deborah Wahl explains why partnering with Netflix makes sense:"Entertainment has a huge impact on culture. We want to make EVs famous on streaming, small and silver screens to build an EV culture through storytelling that incorporates the experiences of driving and owning an EV."
Exactly where will GM's electrified stars show up? A Chevy Bolt EUV and Bolt EV will be in Season 4 of"Love Is Blind," and a Bolt EUV will appear in"The Brothers Sun" drama. A GMC Hummer EV pickup will star in Season 7 of"Queer Eye." Lastly, a Cadillac Lyriq will roll in"Unstable," a new comedy series starring Rob Lowe.
