Executives at the Countess of Chester NHS Trust where Lucy Letby worked have faced growing questions over their conduct
Under NHS Pension Scheme Regulations, the Health Secretary has the power to forfeit pensions where a pension scheme member in connection with NHS employment has been convicted of certain offences
None of the executives have been charged, let alone convicted, of any of these offences, and so Steve Barclay, the current health secretary is unable to act. It has been reported that Letby herself is likely to be stripped of her pension, with Mr Barclay looking into all measures that prevent money from being paid to her.
