She said she was taking the chance to earn another rose — which she did! The pair had a one-on-one date, opening up about losing their spouses and being there for their kids. "This is an opportunity I just can't let go," she said of her choice to leave home and join the show.Sadly, though, Joan had to leave the show after receiving a call from her daughter, who just had a baby, leaving Gerry in tears upon hearing the news.
