Kate Garraway abruptly halted the usual routines on Good Morning Britain when the programme was interrupted with a breaking news alert.
It comes as the Tory party chief exited the Normandy event prematurely on Thursday, reports the Express. Numerous soldiers and veterans came together to commemorate the momentous day's 80th anniversary, with King Charles also present. Her co-host Rob Rinder contributed further to the report by saying that another debate is scheduled for tonight on BBC One.
"This anniversary should be about those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The last thing I want is for the commemorations to be overshadowed by politics."
