Good Samaritan Keena Dowdell helped save a man from a burning house in Birmingham Thursday afternoon.

Good Samaritan Keena Dowdell was working near the scene for U.S. Infrastructure Company when he heard someone screaming for help. A man was at a window of the burning house and couldn’t get out on his own. Dowdell used a shovel to break a window and smash through a burglar box.

“I was busting on the window and there was a burglar box, and I said I don’t know if I’m going to get this man out of there,” Dowell said. “At the end, you know, I broke him up out of there, so I feel a little good about that. I feel like I’ve got a little power behind me, you know.”No injuries were sustained by BFRS personnel.
