Over 20 police cars have been spotted outside Govan Cross shopping centre in Glasgow this afternoon as officer attend an ongoing incident in the area.
Glasgow shoppers looked on in horror as a large number of police vehicles and officers suddenly swooped on Govan Cross this afternoon .
Residents near the scene have reported screaming and shouting coming from Govan Cross near the entrance to the subway and shopping centre. One local posted an image of the scene on social media and claims to have counted around 26 police vehicles.Videos circulating online appear to show a stand-off between a small group and a large number of officers.
The scene then erupts into chaos and one individual can be heard shouting ‘shame on you’. Other footage from the area appears to show police taking individuals to the ground and one officer can be heard shouting ‘stand back’.
