Overall, the poll found the average approval of governors slipped by 3 points as the pandemic dragged on into its sixth month, with governors like Gavin Newsom , Ralph Northam and Ron DeSantis facing double-digit drops. At the bottom of the list are several Republican governors who took vocal stands against instituting strict coronavirus restrictions and faced surges of the virus in June and July; DeSantis, Kim Reynolds and Doug Ducey , who all have ratings lower than 31%, with Brian Kemp and Greg Abbott also in the bottom ten, with approvals under 40%.
