Former Grange Hill and The Bill actor George Armstrong has died aged 60.
The star, who played Alan Humphries, died on Tuesday after a battle with leukaemia, it has been reported., with one announcing: ‘I’ve just heard the very sad news that George Armstrong aka Alan Humphries passed away yesterday.‘A character from my childhood. Such sad news, thoughts with his family and Grange Hill friends,’ someone else said.
Another penned: ‘Way too soon. One of the great original characters who put the show on the map, as well as helping to light up the spin off Tucker’s Luck. RIP George.’ RIP the great George Armstrong who played big Alan in Grange Hill and the superb essay of youth life after school, Tucker’s Luck.
