Christmas Ale is scheduled to be released along with a barrel-aged version and a new holiday ale.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s first-pour party to launch its popular seasonal Christmas Ale is set for Thursday, Oct. 12.
The brewery’s holiday beer list doesn’t end there. A barrel-aged version is set to return, and a holiday seasonal Cookie Exchange Milk Stout also is scheduled for release. Christmas Ale is available for only 10 weeks, but it is a huge seller for the brewery, which has been making the spicy brew since 1992.The ceremonial-tapping event includes the first taste of the ale, merchandise, holiday music, food specials, charity toy drive and more. The brewery also hosts its annual first pour VIP contest; goCans, bottles and kegs of Christmas Ale will be available for purchase only at the Great Lakes Brewing Co. gift shop Friday, Oct. 13.
Barrel Aged Christmas Ale will be released in 16-ounce four-packs beginning in mid-October. The seasonal Cookie Exchange Milk Stout will be launched with a rotating cookie-inspired flavor, taking inspiration from caramel vanilla shortbread. It will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and draft and also will be sold in a new holiday pack. That mixed pack will include both the Stout and Christmas Ale.
