London-listed Great Southern Copper (GSC) has executed a binding term sheet for the Monti lithium project, located in the Salar de Atacama district of Chile. The Monti lithium project comprises 81 concession applications for a total combined concession area of 235 km2 in a district is renowned as Chile's foremost lithium brine production area.

This development aligns with GSC's corporate objective of expanding its portfolio by adding a third project. In addition to the Monti lithium project, GSC is actively pursuing copper exploration and is poised to commence drilling at the highly promising Especularita copper/gold targets. Chile is currently the world's second-largest producer of lithium after Australia. Unlike Australia where lithium is recovered from spodumene-rich pegmatites, lithium in Chile is recovered from salt brine solutions located within and beneath high-altitude geographic depressions known as "salars" or salt lakes.
