Police have sent a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service following an incident at Manchester Airport in which three officers were injured and a man kicked by a police officer.
Muhammad Fahir Amaaz was struck by a firearms officer after he and his brother Amaad Amaaz were arrested following a violent clash with police on 23 July.Greater Manchester Police said it had submitted "a comprehensive file of evidence" as part of an investigation into a series of alleged criminal offences which left the officers injured.
"A separate and independent investigation into our officers' actions by the Independent Office for Police Conduct remains ongoing."GMP previously said its firearms officers were subject to a "violent" attack while trying to make an arrest at Terminal 2 and there was a risk their weapons could be taken from them.
