Armed police and forensics have been spotted in various parts of the town.
A heavy police presence was spotted in the Larkfield area around 5pm with armed officers and two uniformed officers seen swarming the street.
Footage of the incident shows an armed response team on the side of the road appearing to handcuff a woman, reports the Daily Record.Locals also reported a car chase taking place before the vehicle was pulled over.It is understood an area on Baker Street in Greenock has also been sealed off by a forensic team with residents reporting armed officers being in attendance at the Gallagher Retail Park in Port Glasgow and on Prince Street.
The incident took place just miles from Nairn Road, also in the Larkfield area of Greenock, where Neil Wilson, also known as Neil Canney, 37, was allegedly 'shot' shortly after 1am on Tuesday morning.
