Tommy Walsh, best known for his role on the hit gardening show Ground Force, might currently appear on Homes Under The Hammer, but to many, his name is still inseparably linked with the iconic garden makeover series that shot him to stardom. He worked alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, and together, they became a legendary trio, turning uninspiring plots into dream gardens, much to the delight of homeowners nominated by their families.
In a conversation with Radio Times, which the Mirror reported on, Tommy emphasised his dedication to excellence by saying, "Call me picky if you like but I like my Ground Force gardens to be pristine when we finish them. I do not get a thrill from seeing them covered in dandruff." DIY expert Tommy Walsh courageously disclosed details of his cancer scare, explaining that until he detected two lumps in 2002, he wasn't aware that men could also be affected by breast cancer. With family members having faced the illness, he sought advice and was sent to see a specialist at Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
Tommy elaborated: "I had to go in straight away and have surgery to remove it. I am now fully recovered and even back playing football! If something in your body doesn't feel right contact your GP practice and book an appointment. Whatever the result, the NHS is here to help."
