Manchester City's former captain Ilkay Gundogan is thought to be exploring his options with his time at Barcelona running out
Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan reportedly contacted Manchester City recently over a sensational return to the Premier League champions.
However, 12 months on a lot has changed in Catalonia with Hansi Flick now the manager. Pep Guardiola has a close bond with Gundogan but there are no guarantees the City manager will still be at the club come the start of the 2025/26 season. Delving further into that, Sky Sports reports that the Blues hierarchy are likely to set a deadline for the Catalan head coach to decide his future.
This would replicate Liverpool's approach in January when they discovered Jurgen Klopp would be stepping down as manager.
