HAMAS is reportedly prepared to accept a ceasefire agreement with Israel after the truce reached with Hezbollah in Lebanon . A senior Hamas official informed AFP that the group is ready to negotiate a 'serious' deal and prisoner exchange. Despite ongoing brutal fighting in Gaza, proposed agreements have been repeatedly rejected by either Hamas or Israel .
The official stated, 'We have informed mediators in Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious deal to exchange prisoners.' Hamas has maintained that a complete withdrawal of IDF troops is a condition for any agreement. Meanwhile, the ceasefire in Lebanon commenced at 2am GMT on Wednesday, with civilians evacuating southern areas, despite Israel's advice against immediate return due to ongoing IDF clearance operations. Additionally, an unnamed individual claimed to have 'eliminated' Hezbollah's top leadership and significantly weakened the organization, asserting that Lebanon is now a much different place due to the Israeli offensive
