Hamilton is preparing for its first-ever Pride march this Saturday in what promises to be “a very vibrant and colourful carnival celebration”.
The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.It will commence at 1pm on Saturday from Quarry Street towards South Lanarkshire Council HQ before turning back. “It’s going to be a very vibrant and colourful carnival celebration. But it is important to remember that Pride started as a protest, that is its roots, and this march is all about representation and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community.
Taking place during the two-day Pride celebration will be the ever-popular Drag at The Town House and the Drag Bingo Bonanza fundraiser on Friday night at the Town House Theatre. Along with the Pride parade on Saturday, there will be two festival stages in the town centre on Quarry Street from 11am to 5pm filled with amazing acts and inspirational speakers.
