Senior staff were praised for the work they did during the pandemic to “provide hubs and overcome the many challenges the health crisis caused.”
The inspection team also commended “the respectful relationships evident throughout the school and nursery” which “are built on the strong example set by the senior leadership team.”
The report praised “the inclusive practice across the school and nursery, including the Language and Communication Support Centre, and its impact on children’s wellbeing and achievement” and “the success of approaches, and the skill and confidence of staff, to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy and close the poverty-related attainment gap.”St Timothy’s outdoor learning experiences were highlighted by inspectors for encouraging nursery class children “to explore, discover and be creative.
Speaking at a special assembly to celebrate the report, headteacher Colin Forbes said: “I feel very proud of our pupils and staff and we are naturally delighted that Education Scotland recognised the hard work and high standards in our school and nursery class.” Councillor Angela Campbell, North Lanarkshire Council's convener of education, children and families added: “The total commitment of everyone associated with the school towards the young people shines through in this report and I’d like to congratulate and thank everyone for what they have achieved.”
