Get some thrills at Southland haunted houses.
Attractions at The Old Joliet Haunted Prison from Sept. 23 to Nov. 4 include Cellblock 13. Now in its third year, the site is presented by Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group at the former Joliet Correctional Center, which closed in 2002.
One spot is The Old Joliet Haunted Prison, which Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group presents from Sept. 23 to Nov. 4.“We’ve been making haunted houses and huge, bombastic haunted attractions for a very long time,” said Bryan Kopp, market manager for Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, which is headquartered in Denver.
Attractions for the third year of The Old Joliet Haunted Prison include Cellblock 13 inside the abandoned prison, Slaughterhouse: The Rot Shop in the prison yard and a video game-inspired Zombie Laser Tag.“It’s hidden in one of our attractions. Halfway through the experience you might find this secret bar. What seems like it might be a set for a haunted house is actually a fully functional bar,” said Kopp of Oak Park.
