A Seattle family is asking for the public's help finding who killed their loved one near a homeless encampment and why he was there in the first place.
In this photo is Irvin Nguyen, who was shot in Seattle's North Beacon Hill neighborhood on Sept. 8, 2023 near a homeless encampment.
With little information known about what happened, she teamed up with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound to offer a $1,000 reward to anyone with information about the shooter or a suspect vehicle that leads to an arrest. A recent drive through what was the crime scene revealed that the illegal encampment has since been cleared. Alana told KOMO News her brother lived in a home nearby, so he may have been at the wrong place at the wrong time.“He was not homeless. He did have a home. I'm not sure why he was in the area,” she said.
“I believe that gun reform is necessary. I do believe all people deserve housing, and I do believe if people had their needs met... I do think something like this wouldn't have happened,” she explained.
