A vehicle attempting to turn left crashed head-on into another vehicle, Akron police say.
AKRON, Ohio — One man is dead and another man was injured Sunday after two vehicles crashed head-on in an intersection, police say.
The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Arlington Street and Triplett Boulevard. Police say a Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 41-year-old man was heading north on South Arlington while a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 28-year-old man was traveling south. The Malibu tried to turn left onto Triplett and ended up hitting the Blazer head-on, police say. The damage was so extensive that rescuers had to cut apart the Malibu in order to remove the driver.
The Malibu’s driver was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital but he died of his injuries. The Blazer’s driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries, police say. The identities of the drivers were not released. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
