Chophaus, based in Princes Avenue, Roundhay, Oakwood, confirmed on Thursday, March 2 it will be "closed until further notice". Bosses confirmed the news on their social media pages, and deactivated their website.
Rumours circulated when the business closed for refurbishment earlier this year. Customers wondered if the doors to the eatery would ever open again. Co-owner Dale Wynter also ran The Beehive pub in Thorner, which closed in 2022.Chophus opened in 2019 and has been popular ever since. The upmarket suburbs eatery was renowned for its steak menu, Sunday roasts, as well as luxury desserts and cocktails.
The restaurant, on the edge of Roundhay Park, was also enjoyed by local celebrities. LUFC players including Luke Ayling have been spotted at the venue, as well as Manchester City and England player, who formerly played for Leeds United, Kalvin Phillips has previously enjoyed a Chophaus steak. Announcing the news on social media, a spokesperson for Chophaus said: "We are now closed until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience."
