Heinz Toast Toppers were axed in 2015 but there is a dedicated fan base that keeps the product's memory alive and hopes to one day see it back on supermarket shelves
Thousands of Heinz fans are desperate for the return of one of its most beloved products - almost a decade since it was discontinued. Toast Toppers were a staple for many families throughout the 1970s and 1980s thanks to their ease and cheapness.
Yet although they might have disappeared from supermarkets in 2015, customers have never forgotten them. One Facebook group in particular has amassed at least 3,000 followers all keen to see the return of Toast Toppers. She told Sky News: "It was just a really nice but versatile snack. Like a lot of people, I have really nostalgic memories of having it as a teenager." Aimee described the cans as "tasty" as well as "really simple and cheap," going on to compare them to the pricey cost of ordering a meal from Uber Eats or similar these days.
The proof of people's love for them can be found on eBay, according to Aimee. She said: "I've seen tins on eBay that were six years out of date but going for more than £50, which just shows how much people love it."
