Following the PSN controversy last week, Helldivers 2 players are coming back to the game with the highest concurrent players seen this month.
May 2024 will go down in Helldivers 2 as one of the most turbulent times in the game’s history, following Sony’s controversial announcement that all PC players would be required to link a PSN account, which led to the game being removed in over 170 countries where PSN isn’t supported. Thankfully, Sony has backtracked on this decision, although a lot of damage has been done such as mass review bombing.
While this isn’t a massive difference, the game did a decline over the weekend following the PSN controversy as Helldivers 2 became the most negatively reviewed paid game in Steam history. This is changing now that players are beginning to revert their reviews to positive after Sony backtracked on its decision to force gamers to connect a PSN account. It is worth pointing out that the low current player count comes right after the 01.000.
