Motorists are being asked to avoid the area
The PSNI are asking motorists to avoid the Church Road area of Castlereagh as searches get underway at Henry Jones Playing Fields in the area.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Police are currently at the scene of a security alert at playing fields in the Church Road area of Castlereagh. The playing fields have been closed while searches are carried out.
