Here's how much rain fell in 50 San Diego County communities during Monday's storm [Breaking]
The Pacific storm that spread across San Diego County on Monday and early Tuesday brought beneficial rain to many areas but did comparatively little to alleviate the drought, says the National Weather Service. The county could get brief showers on Thursday. But no significant precipitation is expected for the rest of March.
Forecasters originally thought that the system would concentrate most of its energy in North County. But plumes of moisture flowed into South County on Monday night, bringing periods of heavy precipitation. There also were 7 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes in areas like Chula Vista, Point Loma and Spring Valley.Here’s a sample of rainfall across the county.
