While I’m excited to play this new season of Destiny 2, because it actually seems quite good so far, I have been limiting my playtime a bit for one reason only: loadouts are disabled.
So, that will be going live next week, probably on Tuesday’s weekly reset. You cannot pull items from your vault, but I don’t think that’s the biggest issue, as it’s mainly based on the mods and armor you already have on you. It will be totally fixed in a “future release.”
I am willing to say that adding loadouts, which players have been requesting for years and years, is easily one of the best additions Destiny 2 has ever made. The ability to swap seamlessly across loadouts has been utterly fantastic, and again, it’s now hard to imagine we ever lived without it before this. Since loadouts launched with Lightfall, I have done more build experimentation in a season that I did in entire years before this.
There’s still work to be done on it. It still screws up transmog sometimes while switching. It should be able to pull weapons off your other characters, not just the vault. It also needs to save artifact mods you select, as that’s a key part of build switching now. But yes, amazing overall, and I am dying for it to be enabled again.
