Herman Cain, a 2012 former presidential candidate, has died at 74 due to complications related to COVID-19, according to reports
. Cain had attended President Donald Trump's rally in Tulsa, Okla. back in June, and was hospitalized about two weeks after the event with a positive diagnosis of the deadly disease derived from the novel strain of coronavirus. It is unclear if he contracted the disease at that rally, where he was seen not wearing a mask.
He had been hospitalized with the disease for about four weeks. His death was announced on Thursday on his web site HermanCain.com. Cain had survived a battle with stage 4 colon cancer."Although he was basically pretty healthy in recent years, he was still in a high-risk group because of his history with cancer," wrote Dan Calabrese, the editor of his web site in a blog about Cain's death."We all prayed so hard every day.
