OAKLAND — A 100-year-old Oakland resident died Sunday in a hit-and-run collision involving the driver of a vehicle, police said.Oakland police spokesperson Officer Kim Armstead in a statement said the collision happened about 7 a.m. at the intersection of 19th and Harrison streets, and that the man was a pedestrian.No other details about the crash were released. Police do not know if drugs or alcohol were involved.
Officers found the man with severe head trauma, Armstead said. Medics provided first aid but could not save him. Police are trying to find the driver and the car involved. They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 510-777-8570.
