Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Ivan Toney in the past week ahead of the new Premier League season
Manchester United are a week away from the start of their Premier League campaign and question marks still remain about whether or not they have added enough depth to their squad.
This has not stopped the rumour mill going into overdrive regarding Brentford striker Ivan Toney. United are believed to be interested in the striker in the wake of Hojlund's injury. According to Forbes, the Reds are planning to revisit their interest due to the injury to Hojlund. If they were to make an approach for the striker, it would cost them £40m.
Hojlund doubts spring up While it is understood interest in Toney has reemerged due to the injury to Hojlund, former United midfielder Paul Scholes believes the striker could score more goals than the Dane if he was playing for the Reds. "Could Hojlund score 25 goals for us this season? I would be amazed, I’d be surprised," Scholes told The Overlap Fan Debate.
