Hugh Frost was behind the West Tower skyscraper nearby and says new development will be 'stunning'
The company behind Home Bargains and the man behind Liverpool's tallest tower are joining forces to buy a former industrial estate on the edge of Liverpool city centre - and are planning a landmark high-rise development on the site that has already been earmarked for skyscrapers.
Today Hugh Frost said: "We can expect a stunning mixed use development worthy of our great city. It’s a privilege and pleasure to be involved again on home soil, in what is going to be a transformational project for Liverpool city centre. Our development will bring jobs and prosperity through a variety of uses. "
Freehold covenants were in place on the site, which meant that it could not be used for anything other than general and light industrial purposes, warehousing and car parking. This is not TJ Morris’s first venture into property development. It is also behind projects including an 83-apartment scheme on Duke Street in the city centre, a 97,000 square feet warehouse called Speke 100 in Speke Boulevard, and the redevelopment of the former Halewood International Lambrini site in Huyton.
