Horner says it's 'hugely worrying' that news of Red Bull's F1 budget cap breach were leaked, and reckons his team is owed an apology from some of its rivals.
Christian Horner found it"hugely worrying" that news of Red Bull's Formula 1 budget cap breach leaked out and led to a"very public pounding" from the team's rivals.Red Bull reached a settlement with the FIA over its £1.8 million breach of last year's budget cap ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, arguing that it misinterpreted some of the permitted exclusions.
Horner hit back emphatically against the accusations when they were first made, as well as calling out rivals for making"defamatory" claims without any official information from the FIA. "Obviously, any form of leakage is hugely worrying. It's something that we expect to be followed up." Horner said after the FIA's ruling that he felt Red Bull was"probably due an apology from some of our rivals for some of the claims that they've made," and that the team would"make no apology for the way that we've performed, the way that we've acted."
