Trades Hotel is “in the heart of the LGBTQ community” and operates “predominantly as a gay cruising venue and is men only”
A Blackpool hotelier has been hauled before a licensing review panel after being caught serving alcohol after hours.
The panel heard the hotel is “in the heart of the LGBTQ community” and operates “predominantly as a gay cruising venue and is men only.”Its premises licence allows alcohol to be served between 10am and 2am daily for consumption on the premises for both residents and non-residents of the hotel. A visit by officers was made at around 2.35am on Saturday May 18 and found nine people in the bar, mostly with full glasses of what was believed to be beer.
Mark Marshall, representing Mr Cropper, said his client admitted he had “got it wrong” after changes were made to the hotel’s licence in March this year.
