It's been a wet start - but there's some good news for later on in the day
Rain sweeping across Nottingham is bringing a dreary start to the Easter Monday bank holiday. According to the Met Office, overcast skies will turn to drizzle from 11am until the early afternoon.
Though it's looking more promising from then on with sunny spells from 3pm to 4pm and a chance of light rain again between 6pm and 8pm. There will be highs of 13C in Nottingham and lows of 7C, with similar cloudy weather and temperatures expected on Tuesday, April 2. The weather forecast for the East Midlands states: "Cloudy start with periods of locally heavy rain gradually easing through the morning, yielding to brighter conditions into the afternoon.
"Scattered showers then soon develop, some of which may be heavy at times. Winds light away from afternoon showers. Maximum temperature 12 °C." Looking ahead to this evening, it adds: "Showers dissipating into the evening with variable cloud giving some clear spells across the region which may allow for patchy mist and fog to form. Light winds. Minimum temperature 6 °C."
