Around 30,000 properties could need extra protection against rising water levels
Tens of thousands of households have been warned that more flooding could occur this week after Storm Babet battered the UK over the weekend.
However, such warnings will most likely not be severe, meaning there won't be a dramatically increased risk of death or serious injury. Meanwhile, the Met Office highlighted that the worst affected areas hit by flooding which were brought by Storm Babet are likely to see "a couple of quieter days". Met Office Spokesman David Britton highlighted that more settled weather at the start of the week will allow areas to recover from the events in the weekend.
Water levels fell in Greater Manchester near the end of the weekend after a warning was issued on Friday that some boroughs would be hit by flooding. Conditions have since improved across the region with the worst of the rainfall now passing.
