My degree – which the police sponsored me to do – was in business studies. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak, even as a schoolgirl, and wanted to start my own business, which is what I did on September 19, 1988, when there was nothing else around like it and there was a lot of change happening.and they were more in control of their careers. My goal was to convince young professionals that they could meet other young professionals if they came to me and that’s exactly what happened.
When I first started, the membership fee for both men and women was £230, and all members are personally vetted by the agency – unlike dating apps – and financially can bring something to the table. Today the price is £6,500 for either gender and we have roughly 50 per cent of each sex. It’s not unusual for the men to match with women who are 10 to 12 years younger than them. The oldest male subscriber is 90 years old, possibly 91, who is getting quite a few dates.I have a man who does it for me as I’m just too busy to devote enough time to it to do I myself. I wish I could.. If you wanted to buy my business now it would cost you a lot of money. We’ve got fantastic good will and great word of mouth because I believe in value for money and having a friendly, approachable style.
