Labour is hoping to weaponise Scotland’s change of leadership in the run up to the next general election, with strategists already plotting which SNP seats to aim for ChaplainChloe reports
Anas Sarwar, leader of Scottish Labour who has won credit for galvanising support, said Scotland faced “the twin crises of the cost of living and the NHS emergency” and argued it was “clear that the SNP does not have the answers that Scotland needs”.
The party is hoping to make inroads in Scotland in the wake of Ms Sturgeon’s resignation and the SNP’s bruising leadership contest. Labour believes it can win 12 to 15 seats in Scotland and possibly more.
