In 2011, Panasonic’s North American headquarters moved to downtown Newark. It manages 14,000 U.S. employees, including 800 in New Jersey. Panasonic was king of consumer electronics in the bygone era of camcorders, VHS tapes and the first-generation big screen plasma televisions.
