But when it comes to the latter, how does one fit a lounge around a sofa that quite frankly deserves its own room entirely? Take a look at these tips from the experts.If you’re going to go bold with such a central piece of furniture as a sofa, make sure you give it the consideration it deserves. After all, it’s something you’ll be sitting on most days and living with for years to come.
The rest of the living room relies on the way the colour and shape of your sofa is integrated into the space, explains interior designer. “Bright and bold colours are going to stand out in the room – for instance, a mustard sofa against a dark blue wall will really make a statement. There are lots of interesting shapes on trend right now, showcased at Milan Design Week this year, from modern square shapes to curvier edging. Go for a shape that’s unusual or that will grab attention,” she advises.
