The Big Picture Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation’s live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon release date has been affected by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike against the AMPTP. The date has changed from March 14, 2025 to June 13, 2025. Dean DeBlois, who directed the original animated trilogy, returns as writer and director for the new live-action adaptation.

The Vikings of Berk have an ongoing war with the dragons that constantly attack their home and steal their livestock.
