'American Idol' on ABC moves to two nights a week, now airing on Sunday and Mondays.
ABC said, “Fan-favorite ‘American Idol’ alumni return as contestant mentors to build confidence, stage presence and songwriting as they prepare for amazing performances on the iconic Hollywood Week stage.”Billboard reported
that executive producer and showrunner Megan Michaels Wolflick said there will be seven mentors - Justin Guarini from season 1, Clay Aiken from season 2, Jordin Sparks from season 6, David Archuleta from season 7, Phillip Phillips from season 11, Catie Turner from season 16 and Noah Thompson from season 20, last year’s winner.
Contestants will choose which of the three areas they want to focus on - confidence, stage presence or songwriting. Two former Idols will mentor in each category. Phil Kane on "American Idol" on March 26, 2023. "Hollywood Week" starts on Sunday, April 2, 2023, on ABC.
