A source tells ET that Spelling, 50, is"trying to find her footing and doing her best to take care of her kids" during this difficult time. It’s been a rough couple of months for theactress amid a public split from McDermott, 56, a hospital stint, an evacuation from their home due to mold issues and a recent police-involved situation in her rental neighborhood.
In mid-October, Spelling and her children – Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11 and Beau, 6 – were forcefully evacuated from their rental home in Los Angeles when a SWAT team was called in to deal with an armed gunman in a nearby home. At the time,The ordeal has been a lot for the daughter of legendary Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling and her family.
The source continued, stating the ongoing home struggles have been exacerbated by the split between Spelling and McDermott, who tied the knot in 2006."It’s been difficult for Tori to explain what’s going on with their dad and the lack of general stability to her kids," the source said.
