University of Houston wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. may have felt like Christmas came early this offseason.
Dell will again be the focus of the passing game after a breakout season that produced some of the best statistics for a wide receiver in school history: 90 receptions, 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns. The recruiting class received a late boost with the December signing of Klein Cain standout Matthew Golden, the third highest ranked player to sign with the Cougars in the modern recruiting era, and C.J. Nelson of North Richland Hills.“When Matt first got on campus,” said Shorts, “for one, when you see him, the kid looks like a Greek god.
