A 76 mph gust was recorded on the Golden Gate Bridge, according to ABC 7 meteorologist. A 68 mph gust was reported at Ocean Beach at 1:20 p.

"Those winds are very strong, and that's why we have a high wind warning for San Francisco," Brayden Murdock, a forecaster with the weather service's Bay Area office said."San Francisco can be a windy city, but usually we issue wind advisories, and with this system, we have a wind warning, and that's all along the coastal areas, from Marin County to the Big Sur coast. Santa Cruz itself isn't part of that.

The more severe wind warning is for coastal areas of the Bay Area, which are under a high wind warning through 9 a.m. Wednesday, with downed trees and power lines possible. The rest of the region is under a less severe high wind advisory through 1 p.m. Wednesday. The weather service is warning of sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph, with isolated gusts up to 65 mph across the region; the strongest gusts will likely be on the coast.

"We have been getting reports of antenna and dishes falling off houses," Murdock said."A lot of the weaker trees and tree branches probably have fallen in the January system that came through, so that's probably why we're not seeing as many damage reports."of a downed tree on Southbound U.S. 101 at Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto blocking the offramp.
